    Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital

It is vitally important that young people do not miss out on their education whilst in hospital, which is why we have a school room on the paediatric ward of the Royal National Orthopaedic hospital.

Patients are also able to be taught at their bedside if they are unable to attend lessons at the school room.
We teach pupils between the ages of 5 and 18 years of age and use work provided by the home school and supplemented by personalised work by our hospital school teachers.

Teaching staff at the hospital work in close collaboration with medical staff to ensure patients are well enough to access education during their hospital stay.

Parents are also able to discuss any educational issues with the teaching staff, especially receiving advice on the reintegration of pupils back into their home school setting.

Please note the hospital school runs term-time only.
